skrapz joins Royal Ravens’ starting lineup

A week after Paul “PaulEhx” Avila announced his is stepping away from competition, the London Royal Ravens officially announced Matthew “skrapz” Marshall has been elevated to the starting lineup.

Wednesday’s announcement came just two days before the start of the Royal Ravens’ 2023 Call of Duty League schedule. London will open the Major II Qualifiers against the Toronto Ultra on Friday.

“Thanks for all the love, mid scrims right now but you know I appreciate you all, shout-out my teammates for trusting me & the goach @DominateJB for believing in me,” skrapz tweeted Wednesday.

skrapz, 25, joined the organization in October following a three-month stint with Aw0babobs. It’s his second stint with London, having competing for the Royal Ravens from Sept. 2019 to Sept. 2020 before moving on to the Paris Legion late that year.

The lineup change confirms a move that PaulEhx alluded to when he announced Jan. 5 that he was “taking a step back.”

London failed to make the playoff at the Stage One Major, leading to the lineup change.

“I am still a part of London as their substitute, and I have their back like I know they have mine,” PaulEhx wrote in a Twitlonger post. “They have been nothing but supportive of me in this situation. Thank you to everyone who supports me. I hope you will continue to support me through my journey. I’ll be back better than ever.”
