PGA Tour members Mito Pereira and Sebastian Munoz joined LIV Golf, the upstart circuit announced Wednesday.
Pereira and Munoz were added to the 2023 team rosters and placed on Torque GC, which is captained by Joaquin Niemann of Chile. Former Arizona State star David Puig also is on the roster.
Pereira, a 27-year-old Chilean, is 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking. He is considered a rising star, although he is best known for failing to hold a one-shot lead on the final hole of the PGA Championship in May.
Pereira’s name was tied to LIV rumors around the Tour Championship last August, but he remained with the PGA Tour and competed for the International Team in the Presidents Cup.
Munoz, a 30-year-old from Colombia, won the 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship. He also joined Pereria on the International Presidents Cup team and is ranked No. 96 in the world.
Also on Wednesday, LIV Golf announced Matthew Wolff is shifting from Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC to Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC. Koepka’s brother, Chase, and Jason Kokrak are also on this team.
