Lakers lose game and Davis to Philadelphia taken at Wells Fargo Center (Los Angeles Lakers)

PHILADELPHIA  –– Tyrese Maxey scored 43 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers (18-27) to a 118-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers (26-19) Tuesday night before 19,775 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Anthony Davis left the game in the first quarter after straining his abdomen. 

The loss to Philadelphia snapped Los Angeles' four-game winning streak and split the season series.

After being tied 25-25 at the end of the first quarter, the 76ers scored 48 points in the second quarter to carry a 73-57 lead into the half.

With Davis out of the game, the 76ers scored 56 points in the paint. They forced the Lakers into 22 turnovers, converting 27 points off them. Without their defensive anchor, Los Angeles only forced eight turnovers.

LeBron James scored 31 points for the Lakers. Dalton Knecht scored 24 points off the bench. Davis left the game with four points.

Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 20 points and eight rebounds. Ricky Council IV scored 16 points and seven rebounds.

Washington will host Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 76ers will next play again on Tuesday when they host the Kings.
