MIAMI –– Tyler Hero scored 31 points to lead the Miami Heat (10-10) to a 134-93 thrashing of the Los Angeles Lakers (12-10) Wednesday night before 19,657 at the Kaseya Center.
The Lakers are 2-6 in their last eight games.
Miami dominated Los Angeles on the boards 52-36 and outshared the ball to a 42-29 assist clip. The Heat made 24 3-pointers, and their 41-point margin of victory was the third-largest in team history. Miami shot 51.1 percent from deep and held the Lakers to 22.7 percent shooting.
At the half, the Heat carried a 69-52 lead into the locker room.
In the third quarter, Herro hit seven 3-pointers, tying a heat record for the most in a quarter.
Jimmy Butler scored 17 points and nine rebounds, and Bam Adebayo scored 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Heat. Terry Rozier scored 16 points off the bench.
LeBron James led Los Angeles, scoring 29 points and eight rebounds. Rui Hachimura scored 14 points. Anthony Davis scored a season-low eight points.
