Top-seeded Jessica Pegula needed just 64 minutes to win her second-round match at the Credit One Charleston (S.C.) Open, routing Russia’s Anna Blinkova 6-2, 6-0 on Wednesday.
Pegula took advantage of six of her 10 break-point opportunities while losing her serve just once. In particular, Pegula picked on Blinkova’s second serves, winning 17 of 24 points (70.8 percent).
Three other players posted wins that were nearly as one-sided as Pegula’s. Third-seeded Daria Kasatkina of Russia downed Madison Brengle of the United States 6-2, 6-1. Ninth-seeded Madison Keys crushed Hailey Baptiste 6-1, 6-2 in an all-U.S. matchup, and Austria’s Julia Grabher blitzed the United States’ Sachia Vickery 6-1, 6-2.
Also advancing to the third round were seventh-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia, eighth-seeded Magda Linette of Poland, 12th-seeded Paula Badosa of Spain, 15th-seeded Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania, Russia’s Diana Shnaider, and the United States’ Caroline Dolehide, Bernarda Pera and Shelby Rogers.
In the last match of the night, fourth-seeded Belinda Bencic of Switzerland defeated Canada’s Katherine Sebov 6-0, 6-3 in 61 minutes.

Fourth-seeded Kamilla Rakhimova of Russia squandered two match points in the second set but recovered to beat Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard 6-0, 6-7 (7), 6-4 in the second round at Bogota, Colombia.
Rakhimova was up 6-5 and 7-6 in the second-set tiebreaker before Bouchard rallied to level the match. In the third set, neither player faced a break point until the last point of the day, which Rakhimova took to seal her victory.
Second-seeded Tatjana Maria of Germany defeated Brazil’s Carolina Alves 6-2, 6-4, and sixth-seeded Laura Pigossi of Brazil beat Serbia’s Natalija Stevanovic 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. Francesca Jones of Great Britain ousted Canada’s Carol Zhao 6-2, 6-1.
