LOS ANGELES — Russell Westbrook will sign with the LA Clippers after completing a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz, according to ESPN.
Westbrook, a former NBA MVP and nine-time all-star, was traded last week by the Los Angeles Lakers to Utah Jazz along with Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones and a 2027 first round pick in a three-team, eight-player deal that netted the Lakers D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jared Vanderbilt.
The acquisition reunites Westbrook with his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Paul George, who said during NBA All-Star Weekend that besides himself he would most want to see Westbrook win a championship.
Who would Paul George most like to see win a championship?

“As much as he’s been through, as much as they paint this picture of him, he is absolutely one of the best dudes and one of the best people in the league,” George said. “It would be nice to see him get that ring.”
If Westbrook gets his first championship this season, he will now do so as George’s teammate.
