San Diego Wave end in scoreless draw with Louisville, 0-0

With no Alex Morgan for the second time in the last three games, the Wave draw even with Racing Louisville.

Here are three takeaways from the game:

Urgency

With no Alex Morgan out with a hamstring injury, the Wave did not come out looking sharp. A poor attack game and below-par passing resulted in the team failing to score. The Wave had several opportunities throughout the game but was unable to capitalize on several corners along with 2 offsides calls which prevented them from scoring.

Defense Shines Yet Again

The Wave’s defense continues to shine for them as they prevented Racing Louisville from scoring in the match. What worked in today’s match was preventing Louisville from getting into the box. They only got 2 corner kicks in the game giving Louisville little chance to even get near the net. All of this was with Louisville winning the time of possession 55-45. If the Wave continue this defense they will go very far on the season.

Looking Ahead

The Wave look forward to hosting their rival Angel City FC next Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium. There is expected to be a large crowd on hand for the rivalry game as the Wave hope to stay atop the standings.
