LOS ANGELES — On Tuesday morning, USC’s recruiting momentum continued when the Trojans landed the commitment of five-star quarterback Julian “Juju” Lewis.
A native of Carrolton, Georgia, Lewis is the number one overall player in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports. (On3, Rivals, and ESPN have yet to release their player rankings for the class of 2026.) However, according to various reports, Lewis is strongly considering reclassifying to the class of 2025.
“At the end of the day, it is about what Coach Riley does with quarterbacks,” Lewis said in an interview with On3 Sports. “Coach Riley develops quarterbacks, he really knows how to manage the room and he knows how to feature guys at that position. The track record he has with quarterbacks really made a big difference in my recruitment.”
The commitment of Lewis continues’s USC’s hot streak on the recruiting trail from over the summer. The Trojans’ 2024 recruiting class currently ranks number 15 in the country, with 12 of their 15 commitments coming in between June 1 and July 1.
Headliners of the class include four-star wide receivers Xavier Jordan and Ryan Pellum, four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams, and four-star edge rusher Kameryn Fountain. All four players currently rank inside the top 100 of the 2024 On3 Consensus rankings, a model that combines the rankings of all four major recruiting services.
The first day of the early signing period for the class of 2024 is December 20, 2023.
