UFC Fight Night 220: Nikita Krylov favorite over Ryan Spann

Craig Kidwell-USA TODAY Sports

UFC Fight Night 220 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas will feature 22 fighters after the results of Friday’s weigh-in were made official.

Saturday’s card did lose Hailey Cowan vs. Ailin Perez after Cowan missed the weigh-in due to illness. Eleven fights remain, highlighted by the 205-pound main event between Nikita Krylov (28-9 MMA, 10-7 UFC) and Ryan Spann (21-7, 7-2).

Following a 1-3 stretch, the Ukrainian Krylov is coming off wins over Volkan Oezdemir and Alexander Gustafsson and is the -175 favorite at BetMGM. However, it’s Spann (+145) who has drawn 58 percent of the bets and 54 percent of the handle.

Spann lost his only previous UFC Fight Night main event when the American was submitted by Anthony Smith. Since then, however, he has defeated Dominick Reyes and Ion Cutelaba.

The co-featured fight will feature American Brendan Allen (20-5, 8-2) against Brazil’s Andre Muniz (23-4, 5-0). Munoz is the heavy -225 favorite to beat Allen (+185), whose underdog odds have drawn 67 percent of the bets and a whopping 93 percent of the money.

The main card includes three other fights.

American Don’Tale Mayes (9-4, 2-2) faces Brazil’s Augusto Sakai (15-5-1, 4-4) in a heavyweight fight. Sakai is the slight favorite at -135, with his odds shortening from -115 despite being backed by only 34 percent of the money.

Montana De La Rosa (12-7-1) faces a stiff task against undefeated Tatiana Suarez (8-0, 5-0) in a flyweight fight. Suarez is the heavy -800 favorite to beat her fellow American, although De La Rosa’s +550 longshot odds have helped bring in 92 percent of the money wagered on the fight.

The main card begins with a welterweight fight between Canadians Yohan Lainesse (9-1, 1-1) vs. Mike Malott (8-1-1, 1-0). Malott’s odds have shifted slightly from -220 to -225 with 69 percent of the money backing him to beat Lainesse (+175).
