UCLA falls to No. 19 Washington State 77-65, losing their fourth straight

UCLA (14-15, 9-9 Pac-12) looked much more competitive compared to their loss at Washington on Thursday night but it wasn’t enough.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Jaylen Wells scored 27 points and Myles Rice added 18 points to help No.19 Washington State hand UCLA its fourth straight loss 77-65 on Saturday night.

UCLA (14-15, 9-9 Pac-12) looked much more competitive compared to their loss at Washington on Thursday night but it wasn’t enough.

UCLA guard Dylan Andrews finished with 21 points to lead the Bruins. Freshman Sebastian Mack and junior Lazar Stefanovic chipped in 11 points apiece.

Though the visiting Bruins played a more efficient game from the field and 3-point line they were dominated when it came to the free throw line.

The way Washington State (23-7, 14-5 Pac-12) attacked the basket to get to the free throw line was the difference in this game.

The Cougars made 24 of their 33 free throw attempts and the Bruins finished 9 for 11.

This win tied a school record for conference wins for Washington State.

After having such a solid start to conference play, can the Bruins build any momentum with these last two games before the Pac-12 tournament?

UCLA will look to once again break their losing streak by defeating a visiting No.6 Arizona Wildcats on Thursday night.
