The Rams are proving offseason doubters wrong with strong start

The Rams are not just competitive but are actually winning games and could easily be 3-1 if it wasn’t for a missed touchdown call against Cincinnati.

LOS ANGELES — The Rams are now 2-2 after knocking off the feisty Indianapolis Colts, 29-23 in overtime.

Los Angeles ended their two-game losing streak with their big time road win on Sunday afternoon.

Let’s be honest, did anyone have the Rams looking this competitive this season?

I know I didn’t!

I came into this season thinking tanking for USC’s superstar quarterback Caleb Williams would be the best plan going forward but so far I was completely wrong.

The Rams are not just competitive but are actually winning games and could easily be 3-1 if it wasn’t for a missed touchdown call against Cincinnati.

Matthew Stafford has looked like himself and played well through a hip injury on Sunday.

“We put the game in his hands,” said coach Sean McVay of Stafford.

“He’s [Stafford] done this for a long time,” said receiver Van Jefferson, “You can just tell he’s got a straight dawg mentality.”

Stafford took hit after hit and made play after play to put his team over the top. The veteran QB finished the game 27 of 40 with 319 yards passing. Throwing the game-winning touchdown pass to rookie wideout Puka Nacua who is off to an all-time start of his career.

Nacua finished the game with nine catches for 163 yards to go along with his first touchdown of his career. The fifth-round draft pick out of BYU has 39 receptions for 510 yards through four games, both NFL rookie records.

Kyren Williams, the team’s new lead back had the best game of his young career in Indianapolis. Williams posted the first 100-yard game of his career, gaining 103 yards and scoring two touchdowns in 25 rush attempts.

Its not just the offense that has played well over the first four games for Los Angeles but the defense has had its moments as well.

Future hall of fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald has looked good early this season with 2.5 sacks while consistently dealing with double & triple teams.

Rookie pass rusher Byron Young has added a couple sacks to a pass rush that has been effective.

The blend of youth and veteran play is working well for Los Angeles.

The Rams face a tough battle tomorrow as the defending NFC champion, Philadelphia Eagles, visit SoFi Stadium.

Let’s see what this Rams team is all about.
