Defensemen Scott Mayfield and Robin Salo scored two goals each for the New York Islanders in a 7-1 win against the visiting Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night in Elmont, N.Y.

Anthony Beauvillier and Oliver Wahlstrom each had a goal and an assist, Anders Lee contributed three assists, and Ilya Sorokin made 22 saves for New York, which was coming off a 3-1 loss to the visiting Florida Panthers in its season opener on Thursday.

Troy Terry scored his third goal in two games for the Ducks in the opener of their five-game road trip. Anaheim goalie John Gibson allowed five goals on 27 shots through two periods before he was replaced by Anthony Stolarz, who finished with nine saves.

Mayfield gave New York a 1-0 lead when he pounced on a loose puck in the crease and pushed it into the net at 10:34 of the first period.

Noah Dobson made it 2-0 about 1 1/2 minutes later when his shot from the right point went off the stick of Anaheim defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and into the net.

Wahlstrom extended the lead to 3-0 at 5:34 of the second when he got behind the Anaheim defense for a breakaway and scored on a backhand.

Mayfield scored his second goal at 12:55 of the second to make it 4-0. Mathew Barzal carried the puck into the Anaheim zone and then centered it to Mayfield, who sent a slap shot past the glove of Gibson.

Less than two minutes later, the Islanders entered the zone with speed before Matt Martin passed the puck to Beauvillier, who scored on a one-timer to extend the lead to 5-0.

Terry scored at 1:29 of the third period to make it 5-1 before Salo scored twice in the final seven minutes of the contest to complete the rout.
