Report: NFL weighs discipline for WR Davante Adams

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL is unlikely to punish Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams for shoving a photographer until after his legal situation is resolved, NFL Network reported Sunday.

Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault this week for pushing a credentialed photographer to the ground at the end of Monday night’s 30-29 loss in Kansas City.

Adams, 29, is expected to keep playing for Las Vegas while his case is ongoing. He has an appearance scheduled for Nov. 10 at Kansas City Municipal Court.

The Raiders (1-4) are on a bye this weekend.

The photographer, identified as Ryan Zebley, filed a report with the Kansas City Police Department and went to the hospital for treatment. Kansas City police called it an “intentional, overt act” that caused whiplash, a headache and a possible minor concussion.

Video shows Adams heading into the tunnel at the end of the game when he encountered a man carrying camera equipment. Adams pushed the man forcefully. The photographer fell backward onto the ground.

Adams had touchdown catches of 58 and 48 yards on Monday night, finishing with three receptions for 124 yards.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection has 29 receptions for 414 yards and five scores in five games in his first season in Las Vegas following eight years with the Green Bay Packers.
