Orlando Pride sign Canadian teen Amanda Allen

Cory Knowlton-USA TODAY Sports

The Orlando Pride announced the signing Monday of Canadian teenager Amanda Allen to a three-year contract.

The 18-year-old forward is currently in camp with Canada’s senior national team ahead of an April 11 friendly against France.

“Amanda is a player that we see as one of the future stars of both the NWSL and of the Canadian national team, and we’re so happy to be able to bring her to Orlando. She’s a dynamic, attack-minded player who is going to bring even more competition to our roster,” said Orlando Pride general manager Haley Carter.

“Amanda is one of the most promising and exciting players in our game, and she is going to flourish in her development as both a player and person here with the Pride.”

Allen helped Canada’s U-17 squad win a bronze medal at the 2022 CONCACAF championship in the Dominican Republic. She scored two goals in the group stage opener against the hosts and added one goal in the knockout round against Honduras.
