OpTic Texas improves to 4-0 at CDL Major V qualifying

OpTic Texas defeated the Toronto Ultra 3-1 on Sunday to remain the only undefeated team in qualifying action for the Call of Duty League’s Major V.

Texas opened the match with a 250-221 win on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint before taking Embassy Seach & Destroy, 6-4. The Ultra bit back with a 3-2 victory on Breenbergh Hotel Control, but OpTic used a 250-223 win on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint to seal the outcome and improve to 4-0.

However, Toronto’s Thomas “Scrappy” Ernst of the U.S. had the best individual performance of the game, tallying 68 kills and a plus-1.26 K-D differential, both of which were match bests.

Major V qualifying, which includes all 12 Call of Duty League teams, runs through May 21, with each victory worth 10 CDL points. Double elimination bracket play is scheduled for May 25-28 in Toronto, with the championship team receiving $200,000 from the $500,000 prize pool plus 65 CDL points.
