Golden Knights blanked by Kraken at Winter Classic, 3-0

The Golden Knights struggles continue in front of a national audience at the Winter Classic on Monday.

SEATTLE—The Winter Classic on New Years Day has quickly become the marquee event of the National Hockey League. To start 2024, the Golden Knights got to make their debut in the fabled game in just their seventh season as they travelled to T-Mobile Park in Seattle for the contest.

Hopefully the Knights fans who traveled to Seattle had enough on their itineraries to make the trip worth it, because the Knights performance was such a dud that it probably didn’t do so its own. They lost for the fifth time in sixth games, being shut out at that, in one of just the handful of games they will play on a prime national time slot.

The Kraken were lead by a goal in each period, coming from Eeli Kolvanen, Will Borgen, and Yanni Gourde. Tolvanen also tallied an assist on the game.

Logan Thompson started in net for the Knights, giving up 3 goals on 27 shots after his stellar performance on Thursday night.

The Knights face the Panthers in a Stanley Cup Finals rematch at T-Mobile Arena at 7 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 4.
