Giannis leads Bucks to 10th straight over Clippers, 119-106

Third-ranking NBA scorer Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 35 points and six assists for Milwaukee to conclude their back-to-back sweep in Los Angeles.

The win streak is the first double-digit run for the Bucks since claiming 18 games in a row during the 2019-20 season.

Milwaukee came in and showed why they are second in the league in rebounds, picking up a whopping 49 on the night. Fifteen of those came from center Brook Lopez, who also scored 22 points for his fifth double-double of the season.

Brandon Boston Jr. started for Los Angeles for the first time and led the team with 20 points as Kawhi Leonard remained on the sidelines with a knee injury. Leonard has averaged 27 points and played over 30 minutes in his last 10 games.

Paul George led the way in rebounds and assists with 11 and six respectively.

Milwaukee jumped out the gate with a 12-point lead that was kicked off by a three from Greek Freak, Antetokounmpo.

Some fatigue on the court allowed the Clippers to bounce back in the second and end the half within three at 54-51. A large component of keeping that lead for the Bucks came from Lopez, who scored 14 to end the half after Antetokounmpo went out.

Buckets were traded back and forth to start out the second half, but thanks to Milwaukee’s defense the Bucks were able to push in front by nine and end the third at 81-76.

From that point on Milwaukee dominated the fourth by hitting threes and having Antetokounmpo force his way to the rim. The Bucks cruised to end the game on a win and keep the Clippers on the hunt for a title.

Milwaukee continues to sit comfortably in second in the east and improves to 39-17 while the Clippers fall to 31-28 and sixth in the west.

Head coach Tyronn Lue had newly acquired talent Bones Hyland, Eric Gordon and Mason Plumlee sit out on precautionary measures. The guards will have an opportunity to flip the script for Los Angeles on Tuesday when the Golden State Warriors come to town.
