Fantasy Football PPR QB and Defense Rankings

Not only is Patrick Mahomes the MVP frontrunner, but he's also the QB1 in fantasy football so far this season despite Josh Allen's stellar play

Justin Fields has a separated shoulder, Lamar Jackson is struggling, and Jimmy Garoppolo enters the top 12 in this week’s QB Rankings. Where does the 49ers’ dominant defense rank following a superb performance in Mexico City?

1. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs vs. Rams

Patrick Mahomes is averaging 26.2 fantasy points per game (first among all QB’s) and the Rams seem to have nothing going right for them heading into this matchup. Expect another massive fantasy performance from Mahomes.

2. Josh Allen, Bills vs. Lions

Josh Allen’s ability to run the football at a high level confuses every defense and the Lions will be no exception. However, Allen will also throw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in this game.

3. Jalen Hurts, Eagles vs. Packers

Jalen Hurts is averaging 24 fantasy points per game and the Packers allowed 27 points and over 300 yards to Ryan Tannehill and the Titans last weekend. Hurts will run for over 50 yards and throw for over 250 yards this weekend.

4. Justin Herbert, Chargers vs. Cardinals

In a lot of ways, Justin Herbert has disappointed fantasy managers this season averaging just 16.5 fantasy points after many people selected him in the 3rd and 4th rounds of fantasy football drafts. Nonetheless, Keenan Allen should be 100% and Herbert has built a rapport with 2nd year receiver Josh Palmer. As a result, Herbert should have his best game of the season against a struggling Cardinals team.

5. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins vs. Texans

Tua Tagovailoa has been spectacular this season (averaging 20.3 fantasy points) and has scored 23+ fantasy points in three straight games. The Texans have one of the weakest secondaries in football and Tagovailoa should feast on thanksgiving weekend with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

6. Justin Fields, Bears vs. Jets

Justin Fields may have separated his shoulder, but if he plays, he will still have the rushing upside to finish as a top 3 QB. Fields has accumulated 85+ rushing yards in each of the past three games and should continue to do that against a Jets defense with an elite secondary.

7. Joe Burrow, Bengals vs. Titans

Joe Burrow will have his favorite target back this weekend (Ja’Marr Chase) and should continue to put up massive fantasy numbers despite going up against a defense clicking on all cylinders.

8. Geno Smith, Seahawks vs. Raiders

Geno Smith has been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season. The Raiders have one of the weakest defenses in football and Smith should be able to throw for 2+ touchdowns and over 300 yards in this one.

9. Lamar Jackson, Ravens vs. Jaguars

Lamar Jackson has struggled this season with only one 20+ fantasy point game since Week 3. The Jaguars defense has been up and down this season, but starting Lamar Jackson comes with concern right now.

10. Kyler Murray, Cardinals vs. Chargers

Kyler Murray did not play against the 49ers, but this weekend he has a Chargers defense that is abysmal against the run. Murray should be able to use his legs to exploit the Chargers defense.

11. Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers vs. Saints

Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 4 touchdowns on Monday Night Football against the Cardinals en route to a 38-10 49ers blowout victory. Garoppolo has enough weapons on offense to thrive every single week and the Saints have a beat up defense. Let’s see if Jimmy G can capitalize on that.

12. Tom Brady, Buccaneers vs. Browns

Tom Brady has thrown for over 250 yards in consecutive games, but has only one game with over 2 TD passes this season. Maybe that will change against the Browns, whose secondary is struggling immensely.

13. Dak Prescott, Cowboys vs. Giants

Dak Prescott has tallied over 19 fantasy points in 3 straight games, but the Giants defense has been great all season long and could surprise some people on Thanksgiving by shutting down Prescott.

14. Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars vs. Ravens

The Jaguars were on a bye last week, but Trevor Lawrence played amazing against the Chiefs in his last game throwing for over 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also running for 26 yards. The Ravens have a stout defense, but Lawrence could persist and have another solid performance.

15. Derek Carr, Raiders vs. Seahawks

Derek Carr has found a groove over the past two weeks throwing for two touchdowns and accumulating 17+ fantasy points in each of them. The Seahawks have a weak defense and Carr should exploit that and continue his hot streak.
