Dodgers’ Pages competes in AFL Home Run Derby, All-Star Game

Andy Pages earned recognition for his play in the Arizona Fall League.

Andy Pages has had a very successful Arizona Fall League so far. Through 20 games, Pages has posted an impressive .301/.398/.493 slash line. He’s also added four home runs, which is seventh best in the Fall League. The success he’s found earned Pages a spot in both the Home Run Derby and the Fall Stars game over the weekend.

He hit 15 total homers in the derby on Saturday, but it was not enough to get Pages to the final round. His total finished as the fourth best out of the eight player field.

The next day, Pages was the starting right fielder and three hitter for the National League in the Fall Stars Game. He started the scoring in the game with a quality plate appearance in the first, hitting a sac fly on a two strike count to put the NL ahead. Additionally, Pages began the top of the second with an impressive catch in the outfield.

Later in the game, after exhibition shenanigans led to the NL batting off of one of their own pitchers in the bottom of the ninth, Pages knocked in another run on a soft single. In total, he finished 1-4 with 2 RBI in the National League’s 9-3 victory.

Pages spent all of 2022 with Double-A Tulsa. It was a good but not great season compared to his previous years, including when he won High-A Central MVP in 2021. In the end, he slashed .236/.336/.468 with 26 homers and 80 RBI. Pages added value with his defensive play, tallying 14 assists from right field and making quality plays throughout the year.

The Fall League has gone extremely well for the Dodgers’ No. 5 prospect. He will most likely start 2023 in Double-A again, although there is a slight chance his success this fall could earn him a spot on the Triple-A roster. Either way, Pages is expected to reach Triple-A in 2023, with the small possibility that he could reach Los Angeles if he tears through the minors in his 22-year-old season.
