Los Angeles Clippers star forward Paul George has been upgraded to questionable with his hamstring injury, improving his chances of returning for Tuesday night’s home game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
George has missed the past five games with the ailment. He lasted played on Jan. 5 against the Denver Nuggets.
George took a positive step Monday by returning to practice and the change in his status is a sign his hamstring is nearing game-ready.
The seven-time All-Star is averaging 23.7 points and 6.0 rebounds but has played in just 30 games.
Last season, George played in just 31 games due to an elbow injury that sidelined him for more than three months. He has participated in just 163 games during his four campaigns with the Clippers.
The last time George played in more than 75 games in a season was when he suited up 77 times for the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2018-19 seasons.
Guard Luke Kennard (calf) will miss his fifth consecutive game.
