Chargers versus Vikings prediction and breakdown

Chargers secondary might be in for a long game.

Chargers (0-2) AT Vikings (0-2)

When: Sunday, 10:00 p.m.

Where: U.S. Bank Stadium

TV/Radio: FOX; 98.7 FM; 105.5 FM/94.3 FM (Spanish)

Line: Vikings by one point

Notable injury designations: Chargers: OUT: RB Austin Ekeler (ankle), LB Eric Kendricks (hamstring). Questionable: edge Joey Bosa (hamstring), edge Chris Rumph (hamstring), DL Christopher Hinton (back), LB Daiyan Henley (hamstring)

Vikings: OUT: OLB Marcus Davenport (ankle). Questionable: C Garrett Bradbury (back).

What’s at stake? For both teams to not drop 0-3. For the Chargers they are going through a rough time especially because their offense is putting up points but their defense can’t stop anyone from putting up points. Both teams are still in division contention, so they both need a win…badly.

Who’s better? Hard to say because they are so similar they are like the Spider-man meme of them pointing at each other. Vikings have talent at certain positions and the Chargers do as well, so this is not easy to choose.

Matchup to watch: Chargers secondary vs. Justin Jefferson. The Vikings receiver is in line for a new contract and he has started off this season torching secondaries. He has 309 receiving yards in two games. He might go crazy on Sunday.

Chargers win if: the defense can limit explosive plays. They gave up way too many last week. They need to help their offense out and keep the Vikings out of the end zone. (same answer as last week just inserted the Vikings name)

Fantasy sleeper: Josh Palmer. It seems like he is due for a big game and Brian Flores will try to take away Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Prediction: Vikings….Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison might put up big numbers on this secondary. 34-28 Vikings.
