LAS VEGAS — Mayra Bueno Silva submitted No. 3 ranked bantamweight Holly Holm in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Bueno Silva on Saturday at UFC Apex.
It was Bueno Silva’s fourth consecutive victory and earned her a performance bonus.
Bueno Silva locked in a ninja choke 38 seconds into the second round to place herself in the conversation for a bantamweight title shot, which is vacant.
“I want a belt because I deserve it,” said Bueno Silva in the Octagon. “Nobody finishes like me. I deserve the belt. Hey Julianna Pena, let’s go. I deserve this. You deserve this. The people deserve this. I am the new face (of the division). I finish my fights. I give a show for everyone.”
In the semi-main event, welterweight Jack Della Maddalena defeated Bassil Hafez by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28). The fight earned fight of the night honors.
In a lightweight bout, Francisco Prado defeated Ottman Azaitar by TKO in the first round. At middleweight, Park Jun-yong defeated Albert Duraec via rear naked choke. In a women’s featherweight bout Norma Dumont took home a unanimous decision victory over Chelsea Chandler.
In the opening bout of the main card, Nazim Sadykhov choked out Terrance McKinney at 1:07 of the second round.
