Atomic Golf opens in Las Vegas during March Madness

Atomic Golf has four distinct floors with 103 separate golfing bays and features a 212-yard range and six full-service bars.

LAS VEGAS – Atomic Golf opened its doors in time for March Madness this month and has quickly become of the hottest places to watch sports in Las Vegas.

Sitting on 100,000 square feet just steps from The Strat and the Las Vegas Strip, Atomic Golf has four distinct floors with 103 separate golfing bays and features a 212-yard range and six full-service bars. It also has the “Putting District” with eight digital putting bays, the “Tap Room” with Bottom’s Up technology and a collection of locally brewed beers, chef-curated menus and floor-to-ceiling, high-definition display screens to watch all the games.

We caught up with Atomic Golf assistant general manager Bethany Wetmore to talk more about the newest property on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Sporting Tribune: Many locals and tourists in Las Vegas are familiar with Top Golf but what makes Atomic Golf different and unique?

Bethany Wetmore: What makes Atomic Golf unique versus competitors is that everything is elevated. I say that with regards to every aspect. The atmosphere, right when you walk in, we have artwork everywhere that showcases the downtown Arts District, and there are murals all over the venue so it’s beautiful. We also have immersive gameplay. We have a Putting District that uses projection mapping, and that really immerses the guests into a virtual putting course, which is great. Our technology and our games are really high tech and on a next level for that. Another difference is our menu. We have a chef-curated menu. It’s delicious. We have all sorts of food from sticky ribs to tuna to bone marrow to lollipop wings, and we have six bars. We have signature cocktails that are thoughtful and craft created. It really just appeals to all different types of guests.

TST: Why was it important to open during March Madness?

BW: We’re excited about being able to have March Madness happen at the same time with our opening. This is the place to watch the games. We have monitors and TVs everywhere. We have a big screen in our main Astrocade, which is a great place to sit and hang out with friends and family and watch the games. And then we have TVs in our tap room. It’s definitely the place to come to hang out and watch those games.

TST: Were there any concerns about Atomic Golf opening on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip, which doesn’t get the same foot traffic as the resort corridor on the southern end?

BW: There’s lots of great things about the northside. One for sure is the Arts District and we’re definitely trying to cater to our local community members. That’s why we have so much representation of the Arts District in our venue as well as local discounts. This area is known as Naked City and has a long history behind it but we’re hoping that Atomic Golf is able to pave the way for smaller businesses to come through and really help revamp this part of town.

TST: Atomic Golf is essentially connected to The Strat. What is the connection between Atomic Golf and The Strat?

BW: The Strat is one of our partners and we’re partnered with them so we just support each other. We have a great relationship with The Strat and we’re excited to bring guests down to Atomic Golf and The Strat as well. There’s an entrance from The Strat to our property, which is amazing because people can come enjoy the views of The Strat and the views from Atomic Golf at the same time.

TST: Las Vegas has really become one of the hotbeds for sports and Atomic Golf has positioned itself as the place to watch all the games. Do you have plans for watch parties?

BW: Yes, we’ve partnered with the Vegas Golden Knights so we’re definitely going to be hosting watch parties and we already have a putt for play that happens during the games. And we have we’re represented at every home game. We’re also hosting a Vegas Golden Knights Stanley Cup Championship ring giveaway. (Entries can be completed online HERE.) So we’re not just about golf. Anyone that is interested in any type of sport can come in, enjoy the game in a great place to eat, drink, play and watch all the sports at Atomic Golf.
