AI robots infiltrate Chargers’ season opener at SoFi

The Chargers partnered with 20th Century Studios to promote the release of The Creator, which comes out Sept. 29, during the team's season opener.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — When the Chargers moved from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2017, disgruntled San Diego sports fans would often joke that the only Chargers fans in the stands in L.A. were paid actors.

Six years later they were partially correct for one game.

The Chargers partnered with 20th Century Studios to promote the release of The Creator, which comes out Sept. 29, by seating artificial intelligence robots featured in the sci-fi film amongst the crowd at SoFi Stadium on Sunday for the Chargers’ season opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Photos of the AI robots wearing Chargers jerseys in the crowd, went viral after the game after The Sporting Tribune tweeted about it.
