Agents: Raiders signing veteran WR Albert Wilson

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders are signing veteran wide receiver Albert Wilson, according to the player’s agents, while NFL Network reported the team also is adding linebacker Blake Martinez to the active roster.

Those additions come as offensive tackle Justin Herron was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL, NFL Network reported. The injury occurred during practice on Thursday, per the report.

Wilson caught 25 passes for 213 yards in 14 games (five starts) last season with the Miami Dolphins. He spent the offseason with the Minnesota Vikings but was released on Aug. 22.

Wilson, 30, has 218 catches for 2,499 yards and 12 touchdowns in 89 games (38 starts) with the Kansas City Chiefs (2014-17) and Dolphins.

Rosenhaus Sports Representation confirmed the transaction Friday with ESPN.

Martinez, 28, was signed to the Raiders’ practice squad on Tuesday. He was waived by the New York Giants last month. The Stanford product played in just three games for the Giants last season because of a torn ACL that required surgery.

Martinez led the NFL in tackles during the 2017 season for the Green Bay Packers with 144. In six seasons with the Packers and Giants, he has 686 tackles, 13 sacks and four forced fumbles with four interceptions in 80 career games (76 starts).

Herron, 26, was acquired last month in a trade with the New England Patriots. He showed promise while playing 17 snaps during a Week 4 victory over the Denver Broncos in his Raiders debut. A sixth-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2020, he has seen action in 29 career games (10 starts).
